Penguin's 'myFry' named Best Mobile App

The groundbreaking app for Stephen Fry's Penguin-published memoir The Fry Chronicles, known as the 'myFry' app, was named Best Mobile App at the MediaGuardian Innovation Awards on 24 March. The app for the iPhone and iPad, developed by Penguin and media services agency Dare, allows readers to delve in and out of the book by topic, using an innovative colour wheel. According to the judges: "Stephen Fry's enthusiasm for technology is famous and well-documented, and this application allowed his fans to enjoy his work in app-friendly bite sized chunks." The myFry was also runner-up in the Disruptive Technology category at the MediaGuardian awards, held at the Science Museum in London.
